Payroll Pricing for Irish Businesses

You should be able to understand the ongoing cost of payroll before you book a sales call. For monthly payrolls with up to 20 employees, Payrollcompany.ie publishes a per-employee rate. Larger payrolls are custom quoted because employee mix, pay frequency, reporting and approval requirements can change the work involved.

Monthly Payroll Pricing

Weekly, fortnightly and low-frequency payrolls use separate per-payslip pricing. Any one-off onboarding fee, historical clean-up or other work outside the standard ongoing package is confirmed before work starts, so the recurring payroll price and any separate project cost are not blurred together.

These are our current ongoing payroll rates. Prices are shown exclusive of VAT.

(The current Irish standard VAT rate is 23%, although VAT treatment can depend on the circumstances of a supply.)

Non-monthly payroll

Weekly, Fortnightly and Low-Frequency Payroll

Non-monthly payroll is billed per payslip rather than using the monthly per-employee rate.

Pay Cycle Published Rate
Weekly €15 per payslip
Fortnightly €25 per payslip
Quarterly / Annual Low-Frequency Payroll €30 per payslip

A quarterly or annual cycle can be useful for some low-frequency payroll arrangements, including certain director payrolls. If you are paying a director, our Director Payroll in Ireland guide explains the PAYE and PRSI rules that may apply.

What’s included

What Is Included in the Ongoing Payroll Price?

Payroll processing on your agreed cycle

We process payroll on the weekly, fortnightly, monthly or agreed low-frequency cycle covered by your package, built from the employee and pay information supplied for that run approved salary changes, hours, overtime, bonuses, commission and other agreed pay elements.

Enhanced Reporting Requirements

Where your payroll includes payments or benefits within ERR, the relevant administration is included in the published plans. You still need to provide complete and timely information about the payment or benefit. ERR guide

Starters, leavers, benefits and changes

Routine starter and leaver processing, agreed BIK calculations, recurring deductions and other normal payroll changes form part of the service scope, processed to the agreed setup rather than as a statutory determination.

Reports and digital payslips

Standard payroll reports and digital payslips are included on every tier. For larger or complex payrolls, bespoke reporting can be agreed within the quote where management, department or cost-centre needs go beyond the standard output.

RPNs and payroll submissions

The latest RPN is requested for each employee and used for the relevant Income Tax, USC and LPT instructions. Revenue also requires payroll information reported on or before the pay date retrieval and the agreed submission are part of the ongoing service. RPN guide

MyFutureFund payroll administration

Included where it applies NAERSA identifies and enrols eligible employees, and payroll uses the official enrolment information to process contributions. There’s no separate monthly MyFutureFund add-on. MyFutureFu nd guide

Public holiday and part-time calculations

Processed using the employee information, work pattern and applicable entitlement basis provided for the payroll. The underlying employment-law entitlement can depend on individual circumstances this isn’t a substitute for employment-law advice.

A dedicated payroll manager

Every payroll package includes a dedicated payroll manager from the start of the relationship.

Scope

What Can Be Quoted Separately?

The published rates cover the ongoing payroll package. Work that falls outside that recurring service is identified before it is undertaken.

If additional work is required because an existing payroll contains unresolved historical issues, it is better to scope that separately than hide the cost inside a higher recurring per-employee price.

Billing & contract

How Billing Changes When Your Headcount Changes

For monthly payrolls, the Starter and Growth rates are based on the employee-number bands shown above. If your headcount changes, tell your payroll manager so the billing tier can be updated for the appropriate cycle.

A business moving beyond 20 employees moves into custom-quote pricing. The quote can take account of the payroll you actually operate, including pay frequency, employee mix, approval structure and reporting requirements.

Contract and Notice

You can end the payroll agreement with one month’s notice, with no separate early-exit penalty beyond the applicable notice period.

Your written service agreement confirms the contractual terms that apply to your account.

Switching Payroll Provider

You do not have to wait for the end of the tax year to change provider. A clean switch is based on accurate employee records, year-to-date payroll data, Revenue access and an agreed cutover date.

If you’re switching provider, our payroll migration service explains how we handle data reconciliation, Revenue access and the first live payroll.

Buyer’s checklist

How to Compare Payroll Quotes Properly

A headline per-employee number only tells you part of the cost. When you compare payroll providers, check what the quoted price actually covers and which items are charged separately.
